Management Team

The Rains & Associates PL team each has more than 30 years’ experience and maintain a ‘hands on’ approach for each project delivery or corporate advisory engagement. Each project undertaken is directly managed by Jim Rains or another senior team member. Subject to the size of the project or corporate advisory engagement, they are supported by experienced finance consultants, project managers, technical managers, design managers, construction managers and administration support staff.

Our current ‘core’ management team consists of the following people:

Jim Rains            Project Director + Advisory – public & private sector.

B.Build (UNSW) Const Mgt, MBA (Macq), MAIQS, CQS, MRICS, F Fin, GAICD, Dip Law (LPAB), GradDip LP (CoL).

Jim is a lawyer and management consultant who commenced his career as a licensed builder and quantity surveyor. He started his career working for an architectural and development firm, tier 2 and then tier 1 construction companies and project management firms before establishing his own construction and project management firm. At the same time, he completed further university studies in business, finance and law. Jim has significant experience in corporate advisory, capital raisings, government infrastructure projects, commercial and residential projects, multilevel carparks, retail centres, social housing developments, logistics warehousing, office developments; and as a strata building consultant. Jim is a qualified lawyer Law Society of NSW No. 91704 and is currently a non-executive director with BlueMount Capital Sydney.

Eddie Costigan       Consultant – corporate advisory, capital raisings

LLB (Law) University of Canterbury, Post Grad Business Advanced Mgt Studies INSEAD University

Eddie has held senior roles across a range of industries including as regional managing director of a major global publishing house and Australian managing director of an international investment bank. Eddie is a successful entrepreneur, having founded, built and exited an innovative corporate products business and an automotive sector business that listed on the ASX. He remains a board member / investor in a human resources technology enterprise and is the development director for a rapidly expanding media network. Eddie is a non–executive director of BlueMount Capital Sydney.
Eddie is a solicitor and barrister by training and holds post graduate qualifications in business from INSEAD in France.

Philip Perrie         Consultant – Senior Architect, Development Manager & Strata Building Consultant.
